ProcureCon Facilities 2020 is coming January 21 through January 23.

Once again, I am proud to share that I will be returning as a speaker.

This year the event will be held in Atlanta at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead and it features the largest speaker faculty and the most comprehensive content ever.

Frank Musero from WB Research has done a fantastic job of pulling together an amazing group of Procurement Leaders from Facilities and has organized an agenda ripe with interesting and innovative topics.

The week begins on Tuesday January 21st with pre-conference tours led by Crystal Khalil, Director of Procurement for Porsche North America and Katrina Holloway, Director of Indirect Procurement for The Home Depot.

On the first day of the conference, My friend and colleague Michael Beauregard will join Ralf Wessel, Senior Manager Global Facilities at AGCO,  Jim Gunter, Category Manager for Capital, MRO, Facilities Maintenance, with Sonoco, Matt Mazzola, Director of Sales at Energy Management Collaborative (EMC), and Gerry Potter, Sr. Account Advisor, Digital Solutions with JLL for a panel discussion on The Role Of Internet of Things In Traditional Facilities Management And Real Estate Services.

Immediately following the panel discussion,  fellow returning speaker and ProcureCon Facilities veteran Fadi El Mouallem, Sr. Director of Strategic Sourcing at Salesforce will talk to us about the Power Of Data And Analytics In Reducing The Total Cost Of Ownership.  Fadi will discuss how smart data can drive real estate decisions and boost the overall performance of corporate real estate.

On the afternoon of Day 1 we have the option to choose from three tracks.

The first track is all about construction and features a panel discussion on best practices in construction procurement from Anders Rosenkrands-Lange, Global Head of Facilities, Capital Construction and Travel Sourcing at Bloomberg, Vanessa Hines, Purchasing Category Manager – Real Estate Services with Porsche Cars North America, David M. Cloutier, Associate Director, Sourcing at Biogen, and Cheri Barkley, Strategic Sourcing Expert Category Lead for Corporate Real Estate and Safety with Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

This track includes yours truly in a Workshop that follows the panel discussion.

I will be hosting an interactive discussion on the various delivery models in construction.  During my workshop I will focus on some of the newer more collaborative delivery models.  I’ll start with a quick overview, dive deeper into these new models, and close with my recommendation on how we can achieve collaboration using traditional models.

Following my workshop, my friend Terri Roscosky, Supply Chain Manager for Intel will present her case study on how to large corporations address small scale construction projects.  I’m looking forward to Terri’s talk because I know the challenges she has faced and I’m excited to hear how she has resolved them.

The first day closes with 9 interactive roundtables addressing; New Trends In Preventative Maintenance , Integrated Facilities Management Model: Does It Work?, Blockchain’s Role In Food Service, Procurement’s Role In Employee Health & Wellness, Active Shooter Protocol Expectation In Security Services, Transforming An Office Space With Minimal Disruption, Compliance And Risk Management, Leasing vs Buying, and RFP Development And Management.

Day two kicks off with two Keynote speeches.

The first from Kathleen Barrett, Vice President Procurement, Properties and Facilities at Sun Country Airlines will tell us how to overcome High Density Needs And The Challenge Of Providing A Comfortable And Modern Working Environment Under A Very Tight Budget.

The second keynote follow s a panel on how procurement has changed the way we procure facilities services and is led by Jake Gunnoe, Director, Leadership Society of Arizona.  Mr. Gunnoe will talk to us about mentorship and the role of mentoring on nurturing a young workforce.

Following the keynotes a second panel discussion on how to build a category plan for facilities and two case studies addressing how to Green Facilities and how to expand your Supplier Diversity program will follow.

In the afternoon of Day 2 we will have two tracks to follow.

In track A Felipe Niles from Google will talk to us about how procurement is incorporating new technology in construction, how google is overcoming labor quality challenges, how he navigates market regulations, and other Considerations for mature organizations.

In track B a distinguished panel that includes; Kevin Lau, Strategic Sourcing Manager at Facebook, Paul Roessler, Sr. Facilities & Construction Manager, Project Management Office with Lam Research, Russ Mooney, Sr. Category Manager Construction & Facilities at Auto Nation, and Marilyn Biscotti, Senior Strategic Sourcing Consultant at Auto Club will share how the harvest innovation from their supply base.

Jennifer Ahrens Director of Integrated Facilities Technology Sourcing at Intel Corporation and Eileen M. Budo, Associate Director, Global Real Estate, Facilities & Labor Purchases at The Procter & Gamble Company (retired) both will give an innovation spotlight.  Ms. Ahrens will share The Importance Of Integrating Supply Chain Into Your Construction Planning, and Ms Budo  will present Supplier Performance Oversight: Score carding Methods.

The day closes with a case study on Change Management in Facilities followed by an interactive panel on best-in-class facilities management led by Jeff Craig, Senior Director Sourcing, at Honeywell and Jeunetta Lewis, Sr. Director – Global Procurement with Foot Locker.

By far this year’s conference seems to be the most comprehensive event yet and I am looking forward to being there.
