Happy New Year – Blog Update and Plans for 2022

Happy New Year everyone.

I know it has been some time since I posted anything new, so I wanted to take a moment to share an update and a little about my blogging plans for this year. 

My Role at IBM

As some of you may know, in my role at IBM, I am responsible for design and construction strategy and market intelligence.  When I first started this role (over 5 years ago), our team developed custom content and share market intelligence with Clients on an on-demand basis only.  As our Client base (and demand) grew, we recognized the need for publishing a recurring insights newsletter.  The newsletter is now broadcast on a quarterly basis to all of our Clients.

When we first began publishing this information, our publications were short one-page slides.  At that time, I was still publishing weekly articles on this blog.  The topics I addressed in my blog often became content for the newsletter.

Today our newsletter is a far more elaborate and well develop document which can take quite a while to research and write.  A large portion of the time I once spent researching and writing my blog is now spent researching and writing the IBM newsletter.

Newsletter Content

Given that the content of the newsletter is created specifically for IBM and it’s Clients, it was not appropriate for me to share that content on the blog.  However, recently IBM granted me permission to share content from the newsletter retroactively.

In other words, Clients of IBM will still have full and exclusive access to current content, but I can share content from prior newsletters publicly.

Despite the content being from a prior quarter, I am certain you will still find it valuable.  If necessary, I may refresh the content to reflect current market conditions, but most of the content will stand on it’s own.  I also plan on making portions of the newsletter available for download, so look for bonus downloads.

More Content

But wait!  There’s more!

There is always more to comment on, so in addition to re-publishing content from our newsletter, I still plan to publish original blog articles just as I have done in the past.  

I won’t commit to a specific publication schedule, but I expect the combination of the content from the newsletter together with original articles will allow me to re-establish a more consistent and robust publication schedule for 2022.

Direct Communication

In 2021, I had a few people reach out directly with specific questions.  I do respond to all questions that come in and in some cases, those questions turn into new articles.  If you have a specific question that I can help with, please do not hesitate to reach out.  I thoroughly enjoy the interaction and love to share my point of view.
